History

The history of the Pons family, an old and renowned saga of jewellers and watchmakers, dates back to the year of 1845. Nevertheless, the Pons-Solans family began its relationship with Rolex in 1960 and this relationship has continued down to the present day. Over the course of these 175 years of constant evolution, the members of the Pons family have passed on their passion for jewellery and fine watchmaking from one generation to the next, and the family has established its reputation as a benchmark within the Principality of Andorra.

Joieria Berna, the first jewellery store founded by the Pons-Solans family, was created in 1960. This was the same year that Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh descended in the bathyscaphe Trieste to the deepest point on earth, the Mariana Trench. On board the bathyscaphe was a Rolex Deep Sea Special that resisted depths of 11,000 metres.

The Group’s second jewellery store, Geneve, first opened its doors in 1964. This store is situated on Avinguda Meritxell in Andorra la Vella. Today it has established itself as a jewellery store of reference thanks to the select clientele who have made Rolex the watch of choice for their wrists down through the generations.
